My Big Sister – My Biggest Fan!

Posted: November 13th, 2010 | 1 Comment »

Today is the fifth year anniversary of my big sister’s wedding! I just wanted to take a second to thank my sister and her husband Nick for all their love and support over the years. Elana was there with me in the beginning of my plans to be a big time wedding photographer. She supported my dreams and let me take lots of pictures of her to help build my portfolio. I can tell you that without a doubt, I’m no longer the same photographer that I was 5 years ago. A lot has changed.  If I was getting married five years ago, I probably would have considered other options for my wedding photos other than Eli Murray photography, but not my big sis. I was completely under qualified and without experience, but she still trusted me and wanted me to be there to capture her special day. This was probably the most loving gift I could have received at that time in my life. After shooting her wedding, I gained so much courage and confidence to begin the next steps of my life. Like I said before, no doubt, I’m not the same photographer that I was 5 years ago. But that’s my story. Happy Anniversary Nick and Elana! Here’s to 50 more! Thanks for being my biggest fans! I love you both!

Our Wedding Video!! – St. Thomas, Virgin Islands

Posted: October 24th, 2010 | 6 Comments »

When Leslie and I came back from our wedding in the Virgin Islands we were so crazy anxious to see our photos and video; we knew that our guys Collin Hughes, Matt Brue, and Spencer Combs had a real challenge on their hands with the weather. What should have been a super easy, beautiful beach wedding… turned out to be a monsoon on an island, haha. But we still couldn’t wait to see em’ and expected very rainy wedding video/photos. Of course would have loved it all the same, because it was our wedding, no matter how much rain there was it was beautiful to us….. However, when Matt sent us the trailer to our video, Leslie and I were completely blown away!!! I dimmed the lights, cranked up the volume on my computer, and Leslie sat in my lap. We waited for the video to fully download and then pressed play. From the very first frame, our jaws were on the floor.  We must have watched it like 50 times that night!!! I can honestly say that I am still in shock, can’t believe that it turned out to be that cool. I really can’t explain how Matt made this happen, all I know is if you need a wedding video, he’s your man!

After our mind was completely blown by the video, then the photos started rolling in. Leslie and I were THRILLED!! Can’t tell you guys how happy we were to have picked photographers that we were comfortable with. My only advice that I have for new brides-to-be out there is to find the photographer that matches you. There are lots of super talented photographers out there. I personally know several, but the best decision that we made for our wedding was picking a photographer(s) that we had fun with. They made us feel at ease and worked their butts off the whole time. I have tons of respect for all of my brides and I promise to give you my all on your wedding day. I want you to feel the same way that Leslie and I did on ours. I vow to do everything I can to make your photos beautiful and unforgettable. We have so many photos that we absolutely love, but here are just a couple for you guys!! Enjoy! Don’t I have a beautiful bride!
The top two photos are from the incredible Spencer Combs!

Corey + Kristi – Arkansas Wedding Photography

Posted: October 13th, 2010 | 2 Comments »

Corey and Kristi’s wedding will always have a special place in my heart because their wedding was exactly 3 days before my wedding. It was the last wedding I photographed as a single man, haha. Directly after leaving their reception I drove home, changed clothes, and then Leslie and I drove to the Memphis Airport to leave for our wedding in St. Thomas. It was definitely a long night, but I was so happy to be a part of Kristi and Corey’s wedding. Kristi was so excited to get married, you couldn’t take her smile away! There ceremony was at the Cedar Heights Baptist Church in North Little Rock. I was also happy to have my good friend and fellow photographer Mark Gregory with me.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the first part of the day! Enjoy!

Nick + Krystin – Stonebriar Country Club, Dallas TX Wedding

Posted: September 22nd, 2010 | 3 Comments »

About 8 months ago my good friend Geoff Duncan introduced me to a couple of his old high school friends that had fallen in love and decided to tie the knot. We had a couple of phone conversations and a few emails later, I was making my way down to Dallas, technically Frisco, for my first Texas Wedding this year to photograph Nick and Krystin’s big day at the beautiful Stonebriar Country Club. Nick and Krystin both have the most incredibly loving families I’ve ever met. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and I really felt the love. I was really thankful to have Mark Gregory with me at their wedding helping me with all the details. The ceremony was outdoors, overlooking the golf course. The sun was setting and it was a beautiful day. Hope to photograph a few more weddings in Dallas, I kinda dig that Texas heat.

Patrick + Courtney – El Dorado, Arkansas Wedding Photography

Posted: July 19th, 2010 | No Comments »

Patrick and Courtney decided to tie the knot at the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas. They also wanted to set up a first look before the ceremony to save some time with family photos after the ceremony. I always love when couples decide to do a first look. They’re always some of my favorite photos. Patrick anxiously awaited his bride as she walked down the isle to see him for the first time with her wedding gown. These special moments are the reason I love my job. If I can capture an image that shows half the love that they felt in that moment, I feel like I’ve done a good job. Stay tuned for some more of my favorite photos from there wedding day on the blog Wednesday! Enjoy!

Lindsay + Brian – Hot Springs Arkansas Wedding Part 2

Posted: July 14th, 2010 | 1 Comment »

As promised, here is the second part of Lindsay and Brian’s wedding day! The reception was located at the Moca Room in the Ozark Bath House in Hot Springs. This is also the Hot Springs Museum of Contemporary Art located right there on bath row. Pretty cool location for a wedding reception and right now some of Ansel Adams’ early photographs are on display, I was really excited about that part. Enjoy!

Lindsay + Brian – Hot Springs Arkansas Wedding Part 1

Posted: July 12th, 2010 | 3 Comments »

Lindsay and Brian decided to get married in the wonderful Anthony Chapel tucked away in the Hot Springs Garvan Gardens. I was very thankful to be a part of their big day. The wedding was beautiful. The best part of the ceremony was right before the paster was giving permission for Brian to kiss his bride, Lindsay was so excited/anxious she was literally jumping at the chance to kiss her new husband.  Here are a few of my favorite images from their wedding day. This is part one, stay tuned for part two – the reception – soon! Enjoy and after you look through these photos go jump up and kiss your significant other!  Happy Monday!
