Haley + Chris – Little Rock Engagement Portraits

Posted: April 29th, 2011 | No Comments »

Leslie and I met up with Haley and Chris in the Argenta District of Downtown North Little Rock for their engagement portraits. Like most photographers, I’ve done a few photos in the Argenta area before. It’s a great location to shoot portraits, plus it has that super cool, old school Coca-Cola wall. However, this engagement session was a little different… Haley and Chris actually first met each other in the Argenta District and then later Chris asked Haley if she would marry him here in this same spot. I always love hearing the proposal stories of couples in love, I also really like photographing in locations that have special memories or meanings. They’re getting married the first of August and I’m so thankful to be a part of their big day! Here’s a couple images from their engagement session, enjoy and leave them some love or wish them congrats!

Aren’t they just awesome together!

Haley has such a wonderfully contagious smile.

There’s that cool Coca-Cola wall I told you about.

Kaylen + Patrick – Arkansas Engagement Photos

Posted: November 4th, 2010 | No Comments »

I’ve got three reasons why I’m pumped to be photographing Patrick and Kaylen’s wedding in July! First, they are one cool couple and have lots of love for each other. Second, they also booked one super cool wedding planner Jessica Kersey to help them with their wedding. Third, they’re reception is at the Clinton Library and I’ve never shot a wedding there! Here are just a few of my favorites from their engagement session! Enjoy!

Tuesdays with Eli – Arkansas Mosquitoes

Posted: July 20th, 2010 | 2 Comments »

Hope it’s not too late for a Tuesdays with Eli blog post…Today was a very busy day for me. Lots of running around and craziness, but it ended on an awesome note. I finally got to shoot an engagement session similar to the “boat scene” in The Notebook. More on that later. Can’t wait to blog those. Well after we survived the alligators in the swamp, we decided to let the sun drop down and take on the deadly Arkansas Mosquitoes. I’m pretty brave when it comes to most environments, but it only took about two minutes in the misquotes for me to say “That’s a wrap!” Here is one shot I got. Those are NOT stars, they’re deadly Arkansas Mosquitos. Enjoy!

Anjuli + Charles – Arkansas Engagement Photographer

Posted: May 13th, 2010 | No Comments »

I met up with Anjuli and Charles in Benton where they’re both from. We had a couple locations picked out in downtown Benton, that we knew we wanted to photograph their engagement photos. They both knew the area much better than me but I because I was down there the week before, I also had a place in mind that I wanted to shoot. We hopped in their car and started towards the open field I was looking for, but stopped suddenly when we saw this section of planted pine trees. Probably the coolest area I’ve found in a while. I had a blast! Here’s just a couple of my favorites. Enjoy!

Matthew Huff Music- Arkansas Music Photographer

Posted: April 11th, 2010 | 3 Comments »

I first heard Matthew at a wedding I was shooting back in September, he was the live music at the reception. Since then, we made friends and Matthew has played some great tunes at a few more weddings. Matthew loves doing weddings and events, but he’s working really hard on his own music right now. Just finished recording his new county album and has been busy playing gigs all over the south. I asked him if he needed some photos, as it turned out he did, so here we are. These were my first ever music portraits, so I’m glad that didn’t scare Matthew away, haha. We talked a little about the album and came up with this setting for the shoot. He wanted something that represented his album, that makes since right?
Here are a few of my favorites and one at the end to show you my lighting set up, just in case anyone’s interested.
Oh yeah, you can also download Matt’s music from iTunes here.

Matthew may seem kinda serious, but he did break character a couple times.

Okay, here’s my set up. Not much. One light. I had an SB-900 Speedlight inside of the 28′ Westcott Apollo softbox.  If you are looking for a little more info on simple lighting set ups, you should check out Zach Arias. He has workshops and a dvd called One Light. Also check out another really great photographer David Jackson.
