San Diego Wedding at Tom Ham's Lighthouse // Drew & Julie

Our first wedding of 2015 was Julie and Drew. These two are some of our favorite people and shooting their wedding kinda made us feel like we were back in the South, but with the Pacific Coast as a backdrop and no humidity. Honestly their wedding was amazing and one of our favorites.  Drew is from Georgia and Julie is from NW Arkansas, they definitely had a few guests at their wedding from California, but the majority flew in from the South. We heard a few y'alls and some yes mam's and remembered how much fun our Southern weddings are. It's always amazing to me how two people from two different states can pick up and move across the country and then find each other there. Now what actually connected these two is a pretty funny story, that I should probably save for them to tell, heck maybe you'll see them on a national advertisement sometime in the future promoting this "unique" product, haha. Anyway, you would think that because we are from Arkansas and Julie is from Arkansas that we might know some other people at the wedding, but we didn't. We were actually connected to Julie from another San Diego bride that we photographed last year, Janet. We absolutely love when our brides refer couples to us, it's probably the biggest compliment we can receive! Drew & Julie's ceremony and reception were at Tom Ham's Lighthouse in San Diego. It's a super cool venue with a killer view of the San Diego Skyline. The details, wedding coordinator, and flowers were all fantastic! Beautiful couple plus a beautiful venue, pretty much a home run. Almost everything was a cake walk, except the timeline of the day set the ceremony to start after sunset... the sun was completely down, no more daylight. Photographing a ceremony at night is a challenge and makes me glad that I'm experienced and that I use top quality gear.
