Ocean View Wedding in Dana Point // Rebeca + Dominick

Rebeca and Dominick tied the knot here in Orange County two weeks before picking up and moving all the way across the country to Mississippi. Their wedding was beautiful and Leslie and I were grateful to be a part of their story and document their coastal dream wedding. Dominick is going to be a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. My uncle was also a pilot in the air force so I'm somewhat familiar with the life of an Air Force family, I'm sure that Mississippi will just be the beginning of their adventures together! Who knows, maybe someday in the future that adventure could lead them right back to the sunny coast of California! These two were so much fun and way easy to photograph, they were just overflowing with joy and excitement to be married. The day started at a hotel named Blue Lantern Inn. It's crazy close to their ceremony site, which is always a plus for us to maximize the photos. You could actually see the their ceremony site from the balcony of Rebeca's hotel. The ceremony was also overlooking the Pacific Coast in Dana Point Harbor at the Chart House Restaurant. The view is pretty awesome! According to OpenTable’s Diners’ Choice Award, they were voted "Best Scenic View Restaurant in America" not a bad location for your wedding huh? Located that close to the ocean, sometimes a marine layer will bring in some clouds and diffuse the direct sun a little. But not this day, they got clear skies and bright sun! After the ceremony everyone moved inside the Chart House for the reception. Todd Allan was the DJ and emcee, he does a fantastic job and works a lot of weddings in the Orange County area. Because the wedding was an early afternoon ceremony Rebeca and Dominick wanted us to finish with some more romantic portraits of the two of them that evening during "golden hour" at The Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel where they would be staying for the next couple of nights. My favorite part of the wedding day is the time when we can photograph relaxed creative portraits of our bride and groom, so we of course said yes! Here are just a few of our favorite photos from their wedding, hope you enjoy!
