This Christmas Season...Help Portrait
I am going to be taking part in Help-Portrait on December 12th. I encourage all other photographer to check it out too and help spread the word. I can't wait. This will be a wonderful way for us as photographers to give back. Thanks to ML Baxley for first sharing this link with me.
Bratcher Family Portraits Conway Arkansas
I've always really enjoyed taking family portraits. I love when I can just be in the background and capture the family as they interact together. Especially if I can meet the family at the setting of their choice. I know that if everyone is comfortable, the photos will show that. I met the Bratcher family at their backyard play gym. Little Jackson & Riley were right at home, I was just there snapping away with my camera. These were two of the most adorable siblings I've seen.
Fall Southern Wedding In Nashville
October was a very busy month for me. Lots of family portraits and engagement sessions, but the third weekend of October I traveled up to Nashville Tennessee to shoot a beautiful Fall Southern Wedding. It was a super simple outdoor ceremony with beautiful fall color accents. The trees were perfect this weekend and I had a great time using the bright oranges, reds, and greens to contrast the bridal whites.
Cityfest Little Rock Arkansas 2009
Last weekend I had a chance to visit Central Arkansas' Cityfest. Luis Palau is the man behind the Cityfest idea. Cityfest is food, music, speakers, and fun centered around Christian outreach. It's a free event open to anyone. I like to think of it as a Christian Woodstock. It's a great way for people who may be uncomfortable with the current church outreach to have a chance to get to know Christ. I first heard about Cityfest from the church I attend, Church at Rock Creek, they've done a great job promoting this event. According to the statistics from Cityfest Twitter account: 55,000 people attended cityfest. 1,400 people responded to Christ. 600 homeless served. 2 tons of food was collected.
Halloween Costume Party 2009
Yesterday was Halloween. My sister was planning a costume party at her place and invited my girlfriend and I. We made a couple of Halloween dishes that we brought, I will blog about those next with more details and a recipe on what we did. We decided to go as a couple's costume. Punk Rockers, Goth/Punk, Horror/Punk, or some kind of mixture of all of the above. It was a lot of fun dressing up like a punk rocker, because most of you who know me, know that this is the exact opposite of me. I painted my nails black, put on eye liner, and wore a devil necklace.
Angela & Chris Engagements Pinnacle Mountain State Park
Sunday afternoon I met up with Chris & Angela at the Base of Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock. Angela knew right away after we first spoke, that she wanted something fun and outdoors for her engagement session. It had to be outdoorsy, both Chris and Angela both love the "open air". I knew that we had to be somewhere that fit their personalities for the photos to be the most natural, so together we picked Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Sunday was absolutely gorgeous, we could not have picked a better day. Oh course the Park was packed full of people, because it was so nice. We started with some photos up the Mountain just a little bit, then moved down toward the open fields as the sun was setting.
