Eric & Holly - Modern Wedding Portraits
I could probably talk for hours about how much I love this set of portraits, the light was gorgeous and Eric & Holly were super awesome subjects. They let me drag them outside in the heat and into a grassy field during the middle of their reception. It's not every day that I get that opportunity, but as you can see, when the time is right, the time is right. I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking, haha. Enjoy!
Tuesdays with Eli - Wedding Season Is On Now!
Well, I'm definitely busy now. I'm booked every Saturday in June. I just wanted to once again thank all of my past and future brides for letting me be a part of their big day. I love my job, and I know that I wouldn't be able to do what I do without the support of family and friends and of course my couples who book me! Thanks so much. This week I am on a little mini vacation with my family at the lake. We take the same week every year and the whole family gets together. Tons of wakeboarding during the day, intense volleyball tournaments in the evening, and Cookouts every night. We are on Table Rock Lake in MO. I have lots of wonderful childhood memories there. I've set this blog up last week to release today, because I am disconnected for a few days. Got to get away from the computer for a bit. Sorry for the hairy legs, just thought you guys might enjoy my view, haha.
Michael + Kristie - Arkansas Wedding Photography
My good friend and really great fellow wedding photographer, Michael Juiliano got married last weekend! I was super excited to be a part of his wedding and completely honored that he asked me to be his photographer. I know how first hand how important selecting a wedding photographer is. Michael and I first met at a photographer's get-together hosted by one of California's top wedding photographers, [b]ecker. Michael and I really didn't get to talk much the first time we met, but we exchanged cards and since then Michael has been coming to my monthly photographer's lunch meet-ups here in Little Rock and we have become good friends. Some of you may also recognize Michael from around town because he is also the only hot dog cart vendor that I know of in Little Rock. He goes by the alias Hot Dog Mike!Michael and Kristie are perfect together. The wedding was a beautiful small ceremony at their country home with family and close friends as guest followed by some food and music. Catering curtisy of Hot Dog Mike's cart, and a cake from the Capital Hotel where Kristie & Michael first met. My favorite moment was their first dance on the grass, under the trees. It was such a unique wedding, I was so happy to be a part of it. Congrats you guys! Enjoy!
Adam + Erin - Pleasant Valley Wedding
Adam and Erin decided to tie the knot at the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock. The ceremony was held outside on the terrace overlooking the greens. Pretty amazing location. The reception was inside the country club with full catering from Pleasant Valley and a DJ service from Ugly Ed Johnson from Alice 107.7. I was happy to have my good friend Allen from Partridge Lane second shooting with me. Here are a few of my favorite photos! Enjoy!
Bill + Samantha - Arkansas Wedding Photography
Some of you may remember Bill & Sam's engagement photos we did in a junkyard here in Little Rock. I have to say, I don't photograph a lot of couples in salvage yards, but for Bill & Sam this was exactly what they were looking for. I can't tell you how many people came up to me at their wedding and complimented me on the engagements. The people who knew them best, could see that those photos were perfect for Bill & Sam. My goal as a photographer is to blend my personal style with the unique personality of each couple that I photograph. I never want to find myself in a system of just simply producing, without my subject as the center focus. I once read a quote from some great photographer, who I can't remember his name, but I'll never forget what he said. He said "People photography... is about people". It doesn't matter how technically accurate I am or what cool new effects I can do, if my photography doesn't reflect the people that I'm photographing then the photo it loses it core. Sometimes I forget about this, and it's always nice to remind myself. Sorry for that short rant. Congrats to the newlyweds! Here are a few photos from their big day! Also I wanted to send a shout out to my boy Allen Hyslip for second shooting this super cool wedding with me!Sam & Bill first met each other at a Starbucks. That one unique brand of java brought these two people together and led to this day. Kinda a cool idea if you think about it and not a bad commercial ad for Starbucks. Before the wedding Sam and her girls decided stop by for some drinks and good times and because it was Sam's big day, her coffee was on the house.
www.elimurray.com - Wedding Photography Mobile Site
With all of this Apple/Adobe flash debate going on, I just wanted to take quick moment and remind everyone that elimurray.com is fully mobile and has been from day one. If you're on the go and want to show your wedding photos to friends or family, you can do that from your iPhone or iPad. This may be a very minimal feature to want to tell you about, most people probably wait until they get home to their computer, but I do believe that at some point we will all be mobile. When I was first thinking about a website, I thought I wanted a flashy flash site for the glamor, but my good friends at Shift Creative helped me understand that flashy is not always functional. So there you have it. Just a short blog to remind everyone that elimurray.com is 100% mobile. Have an wonderful day!!
